This spicy shrimp stir fry recipes are packed with vegetables and are from Korean Cuisines that add more flavor and taste to the shrimps in a dish.  A compound found in red-hot pepper may also pick up your metabolism.  

Warning though, if there are kids dining with your, omit the red chili peppers or just add a very little heat to bring it close to its original recipe.  Seafood is always great to cook especially when they are added with hot chili or spicy ingredients to bring up its flavor and aroma.  Try them at home.  

1.    SPICY SHRIMP AND VEGETABLE STIR FRY: The original recipe here can yield four servings for regular people.

INGREDIENTS:
  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup sake wine
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dark (toasted) sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped or grated ginger
  • 1 cup large diced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup large diced onion
  • 1 cup large diced red bell pepper
  • 1 cup cubed cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced carrot
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 24 large shrimps, shelled and deveined
PROCEDURE:
  • Combine first of the six ingredients, (this is your soy sauce mixture) in a bowl.  Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat.  Add soy sauce mixture and stir fry until lightly thickened, for about 1 minute.   Add the vegetables and red pepper flakes to the pan.  Cook it stir frying constantly until the vegetables are softened for another 1 minute.
  • Then add the shrimps and ¼ cup water.  Cook by stir frying often, until the shrimps are just turning pink, for approximately 2 to 3 minutes more.  
  • At this point you are done, and you can now divide the dish into four bowls.  Serve immediately while it is hot.  This dish is commonly preferred eaten with noodles or steam cooked white rice.   
2.    TERIYAKI SHRIMP STIR FRY: The original recipe serves four people.  Preparation time is 10 minutes and the actual cooking is only 6 minutes.  Try this at home.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 pound (500 grams) fresh shrimp or 340 grams packing frozen uncooked, peeled large shrimps.
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 small zucchini, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Vegetables oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon (7 ml) bottled chopped garlic from stores or use 2 fresh garlic cloves minced and chopped
  • 2 teaspoon (10 ml) bottled chopped ginger or grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoon (45 ml) teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dark sesame oil
PROCEDURE:
  • If you are using frozen shrimps, rinse under cold water to melt the ice crystals.  Drain them then pat dry.  
  • Prepare the vegetables according to the list of ingredients above.  
  • To begin stir frying, lightly coat a side wok or skillet with vegetable oil.  Set over medium high heat in your western stove.  Once starting to smoke, add the celery, the peppers, and the zucchini cuts.  Stir fry until the peppers starts to soften for about 3 minutes.  
  • Add the shrimp, the garlic and the ginger.  Continue stir frying until the shrimps turn pink, for about 2 to 3 minutes.  
  • Then add the Teriyaki sauce and the onions.  Stir and toss if you can until hot for about 1 minute.  
  • Once done, drizzle with the dark sesame oil and serve while it is hot immediately. 
  • Wonderful to go with white steam cooked rice.
